Hi there,
It’s been a rough week and my family and I are so grateful for your kind words and support about Pop Pop. Hearing that you ate some ice cream in his memory or enjoyed reading about him was really meaningful. I’m staying with parents for a little while and we’ve spent lots of time looking at old photos and telling stories, which has been both hard and comforting. Grief is not linear.
As we hunker down for some rest at the end of the year, I wanted to take a look back at the year here at TNHS! It’s been a big one and I think next year will also be full of changes (I’m planning to take on more copywriting and content work to make self employment more sustainable and use my skills in a different way to support brands I love).
This newsletter is created by me sitting in front of my laptop, but I never feel alone while writing it. I’m so incredibly honored to be a part of your holiday gift shopping, your special meals, your weekly meal prep, your weekly reading, and more. I get vulnerable here, especially about my early 20s, a really hard time, and every time I feel nervous to press send, I’m met with such kind and generous responses. I am so proud of this community and cannot thank you enough for being here! And I hope you’ve got some rest on the schedule for the next week or so.
Here are some favorite issues and moments from this year:
The first newsletter of the year was titled: In: vodka sauce | Out: being hard on yourself. Still true!
