The Summer Desserts I Look Forward to All Year

The best summer dessert is ice cream! These fight for second place

I’m a well documented ice cream lover. It runs in the family, my late Pop Pop was forever asking for a taste of our ice cream cones to make sure they weren’t poisonous (they never were). And summer is a glorious moment for ice cream consumption.

However, there are five other desserts I look forward to as the temperatures rise and I wanted to share them here. You will have to turn on your oven, but sometimes it’s worth it.

Whole Grain Strawberry Crumble

I love to make a crumble topping and this one has extra depth of flavor thanks to whole grains. You could totally eat this for breakfast if you have any leftover, which is unlikely. Use the best berries you can find or add a little sugar to help along the supermarket ones.
