I love coming up with drink recipes that don’t require special ingredients or equipment, but still feel special. I’ve seen the idea of adding jam to drinks on Instagram and I gave it a try last month for a private cooking class I taught. I tested the recipe with and without booze and it’s truly delicious either way (in class, one woman cooked with her 10 year old daughter and they both loved it). This recipe makes a single drink and I recommend making it in a jar for maximum shaking ability (a mason jar or old peanut butter jar is great). If you don’t have jam, you can use fresh fruit—berries would be fantastic and you can add a bit of honey or maple syrup if you want some more sweetness. These margaritas pair well with nachos, a cheese board, and a comfort movie. I usually have Bonne Maman jam stocked (side note: how cute is their advent calendar?) but there are so many great jam brands. I also like Brins, which is local to Brooklyn.
Speaking of comfort movies, would you ever put one on at a party?
