Tu BiShvat: An Ode to the Trees

Hi friends,

Today, I want to talk about Tu BiShvat, the Jewish birthday of the trees, which is today (like all Jewish holidays, it began at night). Growing up, this holiday always felt too early. It falls in the coldest part of winter. We were told that in Israel, it’s actually tree planting season (and it’s an entirely different climate).
