Rabbit, rabbit! Happy Q2! Don’t believe anything you read today (except this). I can’t believe it’s April—I’m looking forward to a more routine month after a very busy month, which included Expo West and getting a Le Crueset. Also I cannot stress how happy it makes me when the sun sets after 7. I saw asparagus at the store and there are flower blooming everywhere. I’ve started my allergy medicine and I’m ready for spring and ready to replace the jean jacket I’ve had since I was in 7th grade (it has a hole in the elbow too big to ignore).
Now, let’s dive in.
Something to cook:
Tilden and I made the excellent pasta salad with broccoli pesto and burrata from Tenderheart from
(it’s in the cauliflower section but I substitute broccoli cause I love it). It’s a delicious meal and fairly quick considering you’re making homemade pesto.I also made black bean and spinach quesadillas for lunch and brought them to work with avocado (I was blessed with a perfectly ripe one) and pineapple salsa.
It’s nothing crazy but oatmeal with blueberries and walnuts is a never fail combination.
I made another scallion pancake egg wrap for dinner while catching up with Natalie (I use this video for inspo but add fewer things and don’t roll out the pancake). Trader Joe’s frozen Scallion Pancakes are so good.
Something to order:
I’ve never heard of BOGO pizza outside of a commercial but turns out Mo’s General does it on Mondays sometimes. We got a great deal on dinner for the Bachelor finale and had pizza (the square pie is the way to go there) and caesar salad (theirs is so good).
Hillary left her job of 10 years (!) and we celebrated with dinner and drinks at The Penrose. They have a housemade white bean veggie burger that was really good (I got it with the regular fixings cause I wanted fries and real cheese) and we got to toast Hillary’s next chapter.
Teal and I had a delightful wander around the Upper East Side and stopped at Zitomer Pharmacy, a must visit (I love local pharmacies). Sally there was so knowledgable and gave us both gifts with purchase (the best).
I was due for a solo dinner at the bar with a book (one of my favorite things) and I had one at Vic’s in Noho. The escarole salad was bright and springy with olives and lemon and the cacio e pepe is perfect.
Dale and I spent sunday morning at 19 Cafe, our old local. The breakfast sandwich with avocado still hits and it warm enough for iced coffee.

P.S. Today’s subject line is the name of a playlist I made in college. It included: Vanessa Carlton, Mumford & Sons, Beyoncé, Passion Pit, Lil Wayne, and the Glee Cast. What a time.
