almost every day! I'm definitely more of a salty snack person, but my partner has a sweet tooth so we often buy the large bars of Lindt chocolate when they're on sale and then have a few squares when we watch tv after dinner, unless I've made cake or cookies or something recently and then we of course have that instead.
Since you mentioned the fried rice, I thought I'd share that I made the Bright & Zesty menu yesterday and I am absolutely loving it! I have already planned out when to make the others this year. It can feel overwhelming to think of making that many dishes at once, but you two thoughtfully provide so much helpful information, it was not only *not* stressful, it was fun! I now have a fridge full of delicious and healthy meals for most of the week and that is just huge. A few notes on my end - I was sure I had vodka in my well-stocked bar, but it turned out I didn't, so I had to sub rum in the cocktail and I wasn't sorry! I also tried the fried rice in a huge wok, but should have just stuck with a flat pan. It just didn't turn out as crispy as I'd hoped and I even cooked it the day before. The wok was definitely to blame. I prepared the fried rice without meat because my husband smoked a pork belly, so I'll have a mix of vegetarian meals and some that I throw the pork into for the week. I really, really love the versatility of the menu and how well the dishes can go together or be eaten on their own. Lunch today was cold - slaw, noodles, and cauliflower that I didn't reheat. Best of all, I had so many ingredients in my pantry already! Thanks for providing breakfast options in there, too. That's huge for me. I would say my favorite part of this whole experience is that these are dishes I will definitely make again and again. They were flavorful, straightforward, and full of great ingredients. So glad I purchased the book, thank you!!
Suzanna, I'm so glad you loved the menu and are enjoying the dishes! Rum would be so good in that drink and that menu is super versatile. I'm happy you were able to adjust everything so it worked for you and am honored the dishes will go into your rotation! Thanks for supporting the book!
I'm a huge dessert person to the point that when I give people directions in NY I usually end them with "oh, and you're right by one of my favorite ice cream places!" 😅 I'm trying to be a bit more balanced and eat some of my frozen fruit after dinner instead of always choosing ice cream, but my freezer is basically an ice cream shop.
omg knowing where the good ice cream places are is an important skillset!! I love ice cream too and I always wish my neighborhood had better options for it.
99% of the time - sour gummy candy!

ooh yes it's so nice to share little bits of a chocolate bar! And homemade cookies are always a treat.
I'm all about breakfast dessert! It's nice to have a sweet end to, what I would consider, a boring meal and gets me through a morning of meetings.
Whoa, I love the concept of a breakfast dessert, what's your go-to?
