Thank you so much for sharing your mom's story. I did not know your parents were ill; it was gratifying to read of their recovery. Please give them big virtual hugs from Donegal. xoxoSharon McMenamin
What a wonderful tribute to your parents,Abigail. You all have been in our prayers and so thrilled when we heard from Jill and Pramod that your mom was starting to feel better. Our love and virtual hits to you all - what a wonderful gift you all are to each other. Love you all ❤️ Sue and Karen
So happy to hear that you are now doing well. So very scary to go through that! We too had family members who were very ill and , thankfully are now doing better. Prayers for continued health to you and all of your family!
So glad you shared your Mom's story, and so thankful for her (and your Dad's) return to health. Karen's story, aside from being skillfully written, compelling, and viscerally emotional, is a dramatic portrait of the human side of COVID-19. It is all the more frightening (even though I knew the outcome) because the context was, as Karen noted, a family blessed to be one of the "haves." So, in addition to the powerful and personal side, it comes across loud and clear that Karen sees herself as incredibly fortunate. It reminds us how much worse this pandemic looks and feels to the "have nots" in our midst. My wife and I are identifying charities to support to help, and I hope all readers will as well. And, to top it all off, Karen managed to liberally season her story with food references and the importance of food, in sickness and in health. Bravo!
